The 12 Features I Built Out of Pure Frustration
A lot of people ask what these 12 buttons actually do. Honestly, I didn't plan 12 features — they came one by one as I got annoyed enough to build them. Here they are.
Text Replace
The simplest and most used one. Suppliers give me codes with "----" separators that I need to turn into line breaks. Used to do this in Excel find-replace. Now it's one click. Regex supported too.
Add Prefix/Suffix
Clients sometimes want "VIP-" in front and a date suffix at the end. I used to write Excel formulas and drag them down forever. Now just type the prefix and suffix and click.
Merge/Split Lines
This came from dealing with accounts and passwords on the same line separated by spaces. I'd split them into two lines for import. Or the reverse — merge many lines into one comma-separated string.
Delete by Position
This one took the longest to get right. Coupon codes sometimes have batch prefixes and check digits at the end that need precise removal. AI initially misunderstood it as "delete first N characters." I had to explain with examples before it worked. Now you just input start and end positions.
Trim Spaces & Empty Lines
The pain of copy-paste. Codes copied from WeChat, QQ, or web pages always have invisible spaces, full-width spaces, and line breaks. Run this first and your data is clean.
Random Generator
For test data. Choose your character set, length, and how many codes to generate. Way easier than Excel formulas when I need 500 test codes.
Duplicate Lines
Not used often, but great when you need it. Like sending one code to 3 channels, or duplicating test data 10 times. No more Ctrl+C Ctrl+V.
Deduplicate
Codes from multiple sources always overlap. This keeps the first occurrence and removes duplicates. Used to use Excel conditional formatting for this.
Split into Batches
The client-driven feature. Split 1000 codes into groups of 10 for 10 people. I used to count by hand and mess up. Now set the batch size and copy each group.
Card Set Generator
Sequential codes like "VIP-0001" to "VIP-1000." Used to drag Excel formulas. Now just input prefix, start number, and count.
Card Set Numbering
The reverse — take existing codes and add sequential numbers in front. Useful for document organization.
Shuffle
For giveaways. Sending codes in order looks rigged. Shuffle randomly before distributing. Also supports ascending/descending sort.
None of these are rocket science, but together they cover my entire daily workflow. Every single one came from real pain, not from sitting around thinking up features.
